Tons of fabric!

Today I spent a very happy hour at Joann's Crraft and Fabrics. I bought armfuls of fabric remnants to make Christmas presents, and I saved a ton of money by buying remnants. Next week I'm going to be really busy sewing felt laptop cases, wallets, purses and plushies for Christmas presents. Also, I looked online on Etsy today and I came across some really great shops. The first one was Cuore, she has some really cute items and they look really well made. Here's a pic of my favorite item, Momo the Acorn Felt Ornament.
The second shop I came across was Thienthanh. Her wallets look very sturdy and adorable at the same time. I love all of the different fabrics she uses. I love this one, the fabric has little deers on it that look like the Sanrio character Deary Lou.Check back for more shops that I come across!

CAMfest

I've been wanting to put pics up from The CAMfest on Saturday but this is the first time I've had a chance since it's finals week. CAMfest was great! I met a ton of crafters, including Jess and Christi from North Florida Craft Revolution. It was a great event, too bad there was crappy weather though. I'm pretty sure that there would have been a ton more people to show up if it had been sunny out. Josh was really helpful and I'm so glad he was there. He helped me unload, set up, man the booth, and pack up. My brother Kenny and Josh's mom also came out to the festival and I think they had a good time too. Here are some pics of my tent.

Street team

I joined an Etsy Street Team. It's called North Florida Craft Revolution. Go check out their blog, here. I'm really happy that I found a street team for Jacksonville, so that I can meet up with some local crafters. Hopefully I'll see some of them Saturday at the festival.

Countdown to Christmas begins!

Thanksgiving is over...now comes Christmas! As a crafter, Christmas is the most important and fun time of the year. So many ideas, projects and events going on! For instance this Saturday December 6th, I'll be at the Creeks Art and Music Festival from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Veterans Park in Fruit Cove, FL, south of Mandarin. Should be great!

Right now I'm working feverishly on Christmas ornaments. I already have some felt bird ornaments available for sale here at my etsy shop. Aren't they cute? I'm making some extras for my own tree. Some of the other ornaments I'm working on are red and white trees and acorns. I love how the felt ornaments look on the tree, it gives it a nice homemade feel, but prettier.

Also, my cousin Kayla is getting married on December 14th so I'm working on something special for her wedding present. I won't post what it is yet because I want it to be a surprise for her. I'll post it right after and let you know how she liked it.

Halloween Pics

I just thought I would put up some pics from Halloween because they look so good! The one above is of me and Josh as Rockabilly Vampires. We both look hot, I think. ; ) I love him in the rockabilly style! My brother, Kenny, was also a Vampire, but he was more of the traditional kind. He looks pretty creepy actually.
The guys starting from the left are Josh as a Rockabilly Vampire, Joe as the wolf from Red Riding Hood, Ray as a Japanese Gangsta, Kenny as a Vampire, and Nick as Pig Man.
The girls from the left are, April as a dragonfly, Nikkie as little Red Riding Hood, me as a Rockabilly Vampire and Kim as a human head on a table.

Catch up

I haven't posted in a very, very long time. Truthfully, when I sat down at the computer I hadn't know I would be posting but I just kind of ended up here.

There are a million things going on. Yesterday I participated in Zombie Walk downtown. It was awesome! There were hundreds of zombies and some people went all out! Plus it benefited the food bank because every zombie brought a non-perishable food item. I can't wait until the one next year! I'll put pics up tomorrow.

In December I'll have a tent set up with my felt stuff at the Creeks Art and Music Festival. It should be a lot of fun, a ton of artists, crafters and bands are supposed to be there. Here is the myspace page for the festival. It's a little bit of a ways out but it should be worth it. Come check it out and see me at my tent!

Gnomes, incedibly thin laptops, and a Blythe obsession

So, today's project was a little felt gnome. He turned out pretty cute, except that he's kinda tall for a gnome. I'll be selling him at my store, so check back later today, he would make a cute gift. My cat Emily really seems to like him.

Earlier, when I had the talk box on for background noise I caught a commercial for the new MacBook Air. It's absolutely beautiful and incredibly thin. So, so, so great. Here's a pic so you can drool over it too.
My last obsession for today are Blythe dolls. Sure, I've seen Blythe dolls before and thought they were cute but this is the first time I've ever actually taken a minute to check them out. They are great! There is one in particular that I really really like. This doll is called "Save the Animals". She comes with a camera, binoculars, glasses, boots, hat, and carrying case. Definitely the cutest Blythe doll I've ever seen. Plus, she kind of looks like me with her hairstyle. Also, I really want a pair of glasses like she has. Like I said, it's an obsession.
