Gnomes, incedibly thin laptops, and a Blythe obsession

So, today's project was a little felt gnome. He turned out pretty cute, except that he's kinda tall for a gnome. I'll be selling him at my store, so check back later today, he would make a cute gift. My cat Emily really seems to like him.

Earlier, when I had the talk box on for background noise I caught a commercial for the new MacBook Air. It's absolutely beautiful and incredibly thin. So, so, so great. Here's a pic so you can drool over it too.
My last obsession for today are Blythe dolls. Sure, I've seen Blythe dolls before and thought they were cute but this is the first time I've ever actually taken a minute to check them out. They are great! There is one in particular that I really really like. This doll is called "Save the Animals". She comes with a camera, binoculars, glasses, boots, hat, and carrying case. Definitely the cutest Blythe doll I've ever seen. Plus, she kind of looks like me with her hairstyle. Also, I really want a pair of glasses like she has. Like I said, it's an obsession.

Antique Store Finds

Today Anthony and I went to Five Points to go to the big Antique store there. That place is full of STUFF! It hurts your eyes because there is just so much to take in. We saw a lot of cool stuff we wanted but... we're poor, not really but we don't have a lot of cash sitting around to buy more chotchskies. We saw a really cool gnome however, it was $125! I ended up buying a big jar of buttons and a tiny yellow cup and saucer. I already used the buttons. I made pairs of button earrings and I sewed some on to a pair of corduroys. There are a ton of buttons left so a lot of my other clothes will have buttons all over them.

Look-a-like Doll and Lunchboxes

Here are some recent items I've made. I made a doll for my friend for his birthday. It actually looks a lot like him. He is wearing an Abercrombie and Fitch shirt and has a beanie, sweet tea in a styrofoam cup, a guitar book, and an ipod. These are accessories that he always has with him. This took a lot longer than I thought it would, about 4 hours. phew. He really seemed to like it though, and that's why I did it.

Some other things I just made are tiny felt lunchboxes. They seemed like a good idea and an obvious one since my caft company name is Felt Lunchbox. They are perfect for carrying business cards. I'm busy making more of them right now... ^_^

Hello!

This is my first post...so yay! I plan to write a blog a day so check back often. Basically, I'm a 20 year old college student. Whenever I get the chance I make stuff, such as little purses or tiny lunchboxes made out of felt. I have a craft company called Felt Lunchbox. You can view some of the items here.

I tend to love all cute, colorful things. Any inanimate object with a face is sure to be loved by me. The other day I saw these milk cartons with faces. You can find them here. She is a fellow Etsy shop owner, you should check her shop out, she has some really adorable items for sale.
